SBS live broadcast of Cadel Evans welcome home

Wednesday, 3 August 2011

Cadel Evans' victory parade will be broadcast live on SBS as Australia welcome's home our first ever Tour de France champion.

The historic victory will be marked with a public event in Melbourne at lunchtime on Friday 12 August and everyone is invited to wear yellow and 'Yell for Cadel'. But if you can't make it to Melbourne then you can tune in to the celebration on SBSONE and online.

The broadcast will be presented by Michael Tomalaris, host of the SBSTour de France coverage who will be joined by SBS cycling analyst Scott Sunderland and reporter Sophie Smith.

“SBS was proud to broadcast Cadel Evans’ historic Tour de France victory so it is only fitting that we should honour his achievement with the live broadcast of his victory parade in Melbourne,” said Ken Shipp, Head of Sport at SBS.
