Welcome to the official site of the 2006 Australian Junior Track Championships.

It is with considerable anticipation that Western Australian Cycling Federation is looking forward to hosting the 2006 Junior Track Championships. This event is prominent on the Junior Track Calendar. It will showcase some of Australia’s young emerging Track cyclist in the discipline’s of 500m Time Trialing, Sprinting, Individual Pursuit & Scratch Racing.

The Championships will be held at the Speeddome located in the picturesque Swan Valley Wine region home to WAIS.

The 250m international standard timber cycling track was designed by German architect Ralph Shurrman and constructed under the supervision of UK velodrome specialist Ron Webb. High grade Siberian pine was chosen for its surface as well as its capability to bend in two directions.

With 1,500 spectators which can be accommodated in fixed tiered seating with facilities available for up to 2,300 people and a fully serviced bar and canteen facility is located in the main foyer of the building.

The Championships will be held from Sat 1st April -4th April 2006.  A schedule is available from the links below. 

Approximately 110 of the best junior U15 & U17 cyclists in the country will contest the four day championships.  With various Juniors moving up an age group many will be anticipating watching Australian IP record holder.

Megan Dunn in the U/17 women category represent NSW. In the U/17 men’s age group West Australian’s will be hoping to catch a glimpse of Patrick Drapac, and their own Steve Hall, and Jordan van der togt lock horns in the main arena..
