2008 Australian Elite & U19 Track Championships

Closing date for entries
Entries close with CA on Monday 21 January. States are to enter
their full team into iMIS. Should you have any problems entering your
team please contact Ron Bonham. You can now also enter the OMNIUM and
AWD TANDEM events through iMIS. It is imperative that you include
seeding times where required.
Entry Fees
After receipt of entries CA will issue an invoice to each State
for the entry fee of $25 per rider.

Ticketing
Spectator tickets will be available at the door at the following prices:
• Day Session - $10
• Evening Session - $20
• Senior Card Holder - $10 (both day and evening sessions)
• Package Pass - $100 (Includes entry to all sessions throughout
the event)

Managers Meeting / Permanence
These meetings will be held on Monday 4 February in the
Conference Room at the Dunc Gray Velodrome at the following times:
- 12.00pm Permanence for NSW, Victoria and Queensland
- 12.20pm Permanence for Tasmania, SA and WA
- 12.40pm Permanence for ACT, NT and international competitors
- 1.00pm Manager’s meeting
- 1.30pm Commissaires meeting
Managers are reminded of the following for the above
meetings:
• Managers are to have the licences of all competing cyclists and
the officials in your team. All licences must be signed by the holder.
If a manager cannot produce a specific licence he must have either a
receipt or a letter of explanation from the Federation concerned
• Managers must produce a sample of the clothing their cyclists
will be wearing.
• All team members and officials must be registered with a UCI
affiliated Federation.
• All riders need to have their bikes inspected, riders who may
fall outside the normal
measurements note re: morphological rule should be raised at
permanence.
Omnium – Elite and U19 Men:
This year the sequence for the omnium events will be as per the UCI
regulations (listed below). Maximum two entries per State. The events in
the omnium will be:
1) 200 metres time trial (flying start)
2) Scratch race (approx 5km)
3) Individual pursuit (3000m for elite - 2000m for U19 - without
finals, heats will be drawn based on the overall ranking after the
scratch race)
4) Points race (15km with 6 sprints)
5) Kilometre time trial (riders will race two up)
All events run as per the Technical Regulations in each event. Any rider
failing to attempt to start in one of the events will not be allowed to
take part in the subsequent events and will be recorded
as a “DNF” A cumulative total of rankings obtained in each
event shall be updated in increasing order after each event. The winner
shall be the rider who has obtained the lowest total of rankings. In
the
event of a tie, the best rider shall be determined by the lowest
cumulated time of the time trial events.

Monday 4 February
In support of the two Championship events being conducted on
Monday 4 February, Cycling NSW will be staging some club racing which
States are welcome to enter. For further information on this
racing contact Anna Powell at CNSW. Racing commences at 7.00pm.
Transport
CNSW have offered airport transfer assistance for team’s
bikes and equipment only to/from the Dunc Gray Velodrome. Please
complete the travel details and estimated freight quantity on the
attached form if you wish to take advantage of this offer.
Training Schedule
The velodrome will be available for training on Sunday 3 and
Monday 4 February free of charge. Please nominate your preferred
training times on the attached form. We will advise in due course
of the training schedule. Should you wish to book the velodrome outside
of these days contact Michael Clancy, Venue Manager on email: michaelclancy@bankstownsports.com
to negotiate the
terms.
Rider information
To assist with publicity for the Championships and to ensure
the announcers have the correct information on the cyclists can you
please provide to Anna Powell at CNSW a brief bio on each of
your representatives.
International Participants
In accord with CA Technical Regulation 3.22.01 the CA Board
have agreed that international riders will be permitted to participate
in the Championships at qualifying level of individual events with
only two to proceed to medal rounds. In mass-start endurance events,
priority will be given to Australian competitors.
Medals
International riders will be eligible for medals.
Australian Champions Jerseys
The first placed Australian cyclist will be awarded the
Australian Champions Jersey in Open/Elite categories only. International
competitors are not eligible for these jerseys.
Clarence Street
Cyclery Cup
The 26th Clarence Street Cyclery Cup will be held on
Saturday 2 February. CNSW have scheduled this event at this time to
provide State Teams the opportunity to compete in this major NSW track
carnival. Further information and entry details are available from Anna
