King on top in Colombia

West Australian Isabella King has taken an early series lead in the scratch race after victory in the opening round of the UCI Track World Cup in Cali, Colombia.

King crossed the line first ahead of Czech rider Jarmila Machacova with Italy's Elena Cecchini third.

The 20 year old is the reigning national champion and Australia's sole representative in Cali.

The second round will be staged in Glasgow, Scotland from 16-18 November with the third and final round scheduled for Aguascalientes, Mexico 17 to 19 January.
