Cycling Australia, Sunday, 14 October 2012

West Australian Isabella King has added a second gold to her tally in the opening round of the UCI Track World Cup in Cali, Colombia.

King's final tally of ten points was 12 points under second placed Natakia Rutkowska of Poland who scored 22 points to edge out Czech rider Jarmila Machacova who claimed the bronze medal with 23 points.

The 20 year old Australian won the flying lap to take and early lead and was never headed. She placed second in the points race and then had a run of victories in the elimination race, individual pursuit and scratch race to set up an unbeatable lead going into the 500m time trial where she placed fourth.

King, Australia's sole representative in Cali, opened her World Cup campaign with victory in the scratch race on Friday.

The second round will be staged in Glasgow, Scotland from 16-18 November with the third and final round scheduled for Aguascalientes, Mexico 17 to 19 January.
